Responsibilities

  • Covert field reports to customer presentable format
  • Communicate with field technicians for accuracy
  • Prepare quotations for repairs and deficiency rectification
  • Apply pricing to materials and labour for fire protection equipment related repairs
  • Convert bulk costing to line item pricing
  • Perform relief reception duties as required

Review, evaluate and implement new administrative procedures

Delegate work to office support staff

Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met

Carry out administrative activities of establishment

Administer policies and procedures related to the release of records in processing requests under government access to information and privacy legislation Co-ordinate and plan for office services such as accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services

Assist in the preparation of operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls

Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence

Oversee and co-ordinate office administrative procedures

  • Ability to plan for / meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Strong understanding and commitment to the requirements of confidentiality
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to details and the ability to multi task.
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • A positive and can-do attitude that enable you to deal with challenging situation with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with all staff, customers and general public
  • General knowledge of fire alarm systems and sprinkler system is a strong asset
  • A team player with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment Familiar with current Code Requirements is an asset

Responsibilities

Conducting inspections perform repairs as well as do troubleshooting as abilities and preferences dictate of life safety systems;

  • Completing accompanying inspection reports and work orders in a timely manner;
  • Performing emergency on-call service on a rotational basis if desired
  • Assist technicians with inspections, tests, verifications, repairs and maintenance work on fire alarms, fire extinguishers, hoses, emergency lighting and sprinkler systems
  • Assist technicians with trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Assist technicians with repairs
  • Assist technicians with installations and retrofits Qualifications

Qualifications

Registered Technician or anyone who has taken any steps towards becoming licensed;

  • Experience in working with most major brands of Fire Alarm Control Panels is an asset;
  • Some experience performing annual & monthly inspections of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and fire extinguishers & hose cabinets is an asset;
  • Experience in programming conventional and addressable panels is an asset
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision;
  • Must be able to produce inspection reports in a timely manner;
  • Customer oriented, polite and respectful with both customers and work colleagues;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills is required;
  • Must be comfortable using power tools and operating equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems is a benefit
  • Junior technicians must register with the CFAA as a Trainee
  • Shadow lead technicians and sprinkler fitters to grow professionally and gain experience
  • A valid driver’s license is an asset What We Offer
